This sensitive-skin study connects stronger barrier function with reductions in TEWL and visible redness. The study is not yet published. For details, fill out the form and we will get back to you.
Study Highlights
In a clinical study of 60 women with sensitive skin confirmed by lactic acid stinging test, taking 350 mg ceratiq or placebo, ceratiq significantly reduced transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and reduced erythema.
TEWL is an objective measure of the amount of water that escapes through the skin and is widely used to evaluate barrier integrity. Erythema was assessed using a standardized redness-scoring scale. After 90 days, ceratiq produced a significant improvement in erythema compared with both baseline and placebo, demonstrating that the benefits extended beyond subjective perceptions of sensitive skin.
The results show that ceratiq strengthens skin barrier function and reduces visible redness in people with sensitive skin. Preclinical research provides additional support for reduced skin-reactivity signaling, helping explain the benefits observed in the clinical study.
