ceratiq® Phytoceramides Scientific Summary

Introduction
In human skin, ceramides are major lipid components and play an important role in maintaining skin barrier functions. ceratiq®, formerly known as Lipowheat®, is a ceramide-rich natural ingredient for dietary supplements and cosmetics.1 Its major components are phytoceramides, glycolipids, and phospholipids. Rich in digalactosyl diglyceride (DGDG), a key glycolipid in cellular membranes, ceratiq is truly innovative in its composition and activity.

ceratiq has been studied in vitro, ex-vivo, and in five clinical trials using oral supplementation. The results of these studies show that ceratiq improves skin hydration and reduces signs of dry skin, such as roughness, itching, and redness. ceratiq has also been shown to significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles, supporting its use in anti-aging formulas.
